Situated one mile east from the center of Trinidad, Colorado, 50 feet above East Main Street, the former East Street School building was constructed on a concrete foundation and has solid masonry walls of variegated red brick.

The East Street School building was designed in the Arts & Crafts style by the prolific Trinidad architectural firm of I.H. & W.M. Rapp and A.C. Hendrickson.

The Building is "U" shaped with a central courtyard that faces toward the east. There are ten rooms on the main floor and restrooms for both sexes. Because of the slope of East Street, the lower level is fully exposed on the north side of the building and contains four rooms, plus a cafeteria, commercial kitchen, food preparation room, storage rooms and a furnace room. Entrances to both the main floor and lower level are handicap accessible.

On December 19, 2007, the building was placed on the Colorado State Register of Historic Properties and the National Register of Historic Places.

The building is zoned "neighborhood services" and also includes a 50 foot parcel, south of the building, that is vacant and zoned residential. A parking lot, located across First Street from the north wing of the building, is included with the property and zoned as auto storage. The building is ideal for development into offices for an expanding and growing company.

The city of Trinidad is located along I-25, midway between Denver and Santa Fe. Over the road trucking services and Burlington Northern/Sante Fe freight services are available in addition to daily passenger service to Los Angeles and Chicago via Amtrak. There is also a municipal airport that can accomodate corporate jets.
