William Broadhead Mansion 130 South Main Street Jamestown, New York Owner - Mark Polaski

This is the oldest photo we have of 130 South Main Street ( at the time it was Warren Street - because it went to Warren PA.) notice the first electric pole just in front of the man in the photo .I've been told it took tens years to complete the home and the Broadhead family lived in a house on the property that was later moved up the street on Broadhead Ave. named after William Broadhead. ( Broadhead Avenue ). It is also interesting that the victorians did not plant shrubs close to there homes, because they thought they would bring insects into the home and stop ventilation. This beautiful Victorian with its belevedere has 28 rooms, 4 that were for servants. the third floor which has 3000 sq ft was used as a ballroom for entertaining. Also on the Property is a 3 floor Carrage House. I would very much appreciate any interior pictures of the home, for we have none, the previous owner once showed us a couple of photos, but they were not given to us.

I believe that when you sell a old home that new owners should recieve some material that belonged to the home, so that it may be preserved for future historians.
